It’s been a while since the last news update and there are lots of things to tell!
You may have seen that we’ve added Louisa Harding and Noro to our range and we are about to start stocking Debbie Bliss.
We went to the Handarbeit and Hobby show in Cologne in April and found some wonderful things. We have a self-patterning sock yarn called ‘Hot Socks’ in a typical 75/25 mix and also in a cotton mix and we are now going to add this to all of our sock kits. I can vouch for the fact that it’ s also great for garments. I’ve just knitted my daughter a bolero with just 1 ball (she’s 2). A pic will be on the website soon. We ordered some Icelandic wool in amazing colours which will appear on our website as soon as we get it. We bought this mainly for felting but I’m sure that there are lots of you who would love to knit a traditional Icelandic sweater. Our favourite find at the show was a yarn called Premier by Feza. It knits up as stripes of colour and texture as if you’re using lots of completely different yarns. Amazing!
For the locals amongst you, we have increased the shelving in the shop again to house more yarns and we have a pattern browsing ’station’ which was well overdue! There are some great new necklace kits which combine yarn and beads to create stunning results. Hopefully these will be on the website too later in the year. We have started stocking wire for knitting and crochet which has really popular and we have some great felted bags to inspire you.
