Getting Ready For Christmas

October 25th, 2006 by vicki

We had a very successful National Knitting Week event on Saturday. We raised over £180 for Cancer Research UK and had a great time as well! It’s led to us setting up a regular knitting group in Malvern, a Stitch ‘n’ Bitch type thing. We’re just looking into venues but will definitely put info on here when we have details.

The shop is starting to gear up for Christmas. We have some exclusive scarf kits to knit those cool spiral scarves and we’ve just designed a bag pattern which can be knitted with one scarf kit! It’s really easy and you could always make a matching bag and scarf. The free pattern is in our ‘goodies’ section and we sell the handles too.

We are expecting some gorgeous Lantern Moon needles and yarn storage baskets soon and some of the Pattern-a-Day Knitting and Crochet Calendars which we will have on the website as soon as they arrive. We’re getting some ‘Knitting Parlour’ knitting bags which we are very excited about.

It’s not too late to start Christmas Present Knitting! Easily time to knit some socks or scarves or even a jumper if you’re quick. There are plenty of beautiful yarns for the Autumn and Winter and we do have most of our stock on the website now.

If you have any knitting problems or a query about availability or anything else, please get in touch with the ‘contact us’ page.

JOIN US FOR A DAY’S KNITTING!

We are inviting local knitters and aspiring knitters to join us for the day, afternoon or an hour to celebrate National Knitting Week and to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

This is an ideal opportunity to meet like-minded people, share your knitting knowledge with those who have less experience and be inspired by other people’s ideas. We will be on hand all day to teach basic knitting to anyone who would like to learn. We will have plenty of yarns for people to try knitting with something more unusual.

All we ask for is a suggested donation of £7 with all proceeds going directly to Cancer Research UK. There will be coffee and cakes kindly provided by the Great Malvern Hotel.
